Faced with a limited time to live, people experience a host of very significant and challenging changes. We stand alongside them, supporting and assisting their quality of life, their dying and their bereavement. Mary Potter Hospice looks after one in three people who die in Porirua.

Mary Potter Hospice provides compassionate specialist palliative care services, free of charge. Our philosophy is to care for the whole person, not just their physical needs but their emotional, spiritual and social needs. We look after their family, whanau and friends. Our team of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, spiritual carers, social workers, pasifika liaison, Maori liason, massage therapists, and counsellors all work together to produce the very best holistic care.

The Trust House Foundation is supporting Mary Potter Hospice’s community palliative care in Porirua. Our experienced Porirua social worker, Mary, understands what is needed at the end of life. She is committed to looking after people with respect ensuring they get the care they need. She liaises with a range of people including doctors, nurses, support agencies and community groups so an individual is cared for in the best way possible. Mary also supports families, whanau and friends both before and after the death of their loved ones.

Mary Potter Hospice cares greatly for all people in our communities and wants to thank Trust House for all their support and compassion.
