Stroke Central New Zealand
Stroke Central New Zealand is a not-for-profit, membership-based organisation for stroke survivors and their whanau.
We are the sole provider of community-based support services to stroke survivors and their families/carers in the Central Region. Our free Field Officer Service supports stroke survivors living in the community to gain the best quality of life after experiencing stroke by providing resources and education on stroke, helping them to navigate the hospital system and connecting stroke survivors through stroke clubs as well as referring them on to other community-based services that are of value to them.
The Trust House Foundation grant enables us to offer our services free of charge as well as helping us provide Stroke Prevention education to the wider community, to enable people to reduce their personal risk of stroke with lifestyle choices as well as working closely with other community-based organisations to deliver the best service possible for their communities and achieve the best outcome possible for stroke survivors and their families.
