The Tawa Swimming Club is a community based club established in 1971 which operates out of Tawa Pool seven days a week. Our club is committed to providing our members with the essential life skill of swimming and our aim is to ensure they have the opportunity to develop this skill as far as they wish to, in either a competitive or non-competitive sense. To meet this goal Tawa Swimming Club provides a structured range of swim programs to over 200 children, from entry level club programs through to intensive squad training programs. The majority of our squad swimmers have come through our club swim program and our top achievers train up to ten times per week and compete at local swimming carnivals, through to Wellington regional and New Zealand National swimming competitions.
Venue pool hire is one of our largest expenses and has a significant economic impact on the club. The Trust House Foundation grant will assist with paying this non-discretionary expense which allows the club to continue to function, and contributes to enabling us to keep club fees at a level where being a member of the swimming club is an accessible option to all members of the community. Thank you to the Trust House Foundation for their support.
