The Trustees are committed to providing funds to as wide a community base as is possible within the communities in which we have an association.
PUKAHA MOUNT BRUCE VISITOR CENTRE
Pukaha Mt Bruce Trust House would like to announce we have contributed another $150,000 to the stage two upgrade of the kiwi house and breeding centre at Pukaha Mount Bruce. This is in addition to the donation already made of $400,000 to the recent upgrade of the visitor centre. Stage 2 Development at Pukaha includes upgrading the Nocturnal Kiwi House so that visitors can observe even more of our national icon as well as a much improved enclosure for the tuatara. They are also looking at developing new exhibits that will include native frogs, weta, weevils, skinks and geckos. Trust House chairman, Brian Bourke, said the contribution recognised the importance of Pukaha Mount Bruce as a national centre for wildlife and as a major visitor attraction for the region. "It represents our commitment both to increasing the benefits that tourism brings to the Wairarapa and to enhancing the quality of life in the region."www.mtbruce.org.nz

Trust House Balloons Over Wairarapa 19th - 21st March 2010
Trusthousebaloons

Trust House is again to be the major supporter of the Balloons over Wairarapa.
The 2010 Trust House Balloons Over Wairarapa will be the twelfth major fiesta in as many years to be held in the Wairarapa region.
Uncontrolled airspace and absence of a major airport in the Wairarapa gives balloon pilots more freedom than at many other events. They have been able to enjoy flights up to 9,500 feet, with stunning views of New Zealand’s snow-capped Southern Alps to the south, and the Pacific Ocean over mountains to the west and hills to the east. The highlight is the Trust House Night Glow at Colin Pugh Sports Bowl on Saturday.
Other events include the Splash and Dash at Henley Lake, the Mass Ascension from Clareville and the Balloon Launch from Wairarapa College in Masterton. (Free entry)
